Birth flowers by month and their meanings

Birth flowers have been associated with the months of the year for centuries. While most people know their zodiac sign or birthstone, fewer know that each month also has its own birth flower.

Because every person has a birth flower and when you bring several of these flowers together, they form a bouquet that can symbolize a family, a relationship or a special moment in time.

The tradition traces back to ancient Rome and flourished during the Victorian era through the language of flowers, known as floriography, where every bloom carried a hidden message.

Birthbloom carries that tradition forward. We turn it into something you can hang on your wall, give as a gift, and keep for a lifetime.

There are two commonly used lists of birth flowers: a classical and a more modern one. Birthbloom follows the classical and most widely established tradition.
